Clancy Baucom<\/strong> is a native of rural Union County whose family has been rooted here for generations.\u00a0 He is a businessman, family man, farmer, and Sunday school teacher.\u00a0 Baucom believes in an America First agenda for North Carolina so every family can thrive without the burden of an overreaching government.<\/span><\/p>\n


He is a graduate of Piedmont High School and went on to earn his Associate\u2019s Degree from NC State University.\u00a0 Baucom is actively involved in the community and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He has been married to his wife Kim for 35 years, who is also a Union County native. Together, they have three adult daughters: Kendra, Callie, and Carmen.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a commissioner, Clancy has provided tax incentives to attract businesses, supported a program to bring clean and increased water supply to our citizens, and worked to ensure our farmland is preserved. His priorities for the NC General Assembly include religious freedom, election integrity, supporting the life of the unborn, fewer business regulations, and protecting Second Amendment rights.<\/p>\n

Having operated a wholesale nursery business in Marshville for 37 years, he is deeply committed to the agricultural community. As a lifelong resident of eastern Union County, Clancy knows the community and the importance of agriculture to both Union and Anson Counties. Foreign enemies should never own American farmland. The latest estimate shows foreign countries own 700,000 acres of North Carolina farmland and 45.9 million acres of US farmland, putting our food supply and national security at risk. After I’m elected, I’ll work to protect our farmland from getting into the hands of foreign adversaries.<\/p>\n

We don’t only have to protect our farmland from enemy countries, but also from our government. We\u2019re facing a moment where developers see farmland as a profit margin, and our heritage is treated like an inconvenience. My family has farmed in Union County for generations, so I understand how over taxation and needless regulations burden farmers. Farmers deserve certainty, not the constant threat of regulations that could drive them out of business.<\/p>\n
